Questions about "mistakes" on credit reports

So far I only have Experian and Transunion printed out. Equifax asked these wierd, cryptic questions that I evidently didn't answer to their liking so I have to mail in a request.

    Transunion:

    * Transunion lists a previous address where I have never taken residence. It's in the same housing community where I live, but not my house. Would this be worth my while fixing?
    * There are also two "Regular Inquiries" that I have no idea where they came from. They appear to be from mortgage companies, but not either of mine that I have loans through.

    Experian:

    * Two accounts lists "Past Due" and "Past due 150 days"
    * Four accounts list "Chapter 7 Bankruptcy" and "Account Charged Off"
    * Multiple accounts show me filing bankruptcy on various incorrect dates

Is any of this anything I should fix? I was thinking everything should state "IIB" but not also "charged off" or "past due".

You are right. Unless the charge off occurred PRIOR to your BK - then it is incorrect reporting.

Definately get rid of the address that is not your address. There are many mistakes made on the reports - they will not fix them without you pointing out the error of their ways.

Anyone know if disputing the incorrect BK dates on Experian could help me out in any way?

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks...I just disputed the public record on all 3. 2 had wrong date and one had incorrect case number. I started a thread about this public record business under the chapter 7 before the BK forum. Read it. There was some good insight there.

If you dispute this, you will be asked to provide a copy of your filing and creditor matrix. We too had the wrong dates listed, wrong chapter, etc., disputed the information, it was corrected and then within six months changed all back to the wrong information. We are 2 1/2 years beyond discharge from a Chapter 13 and over the past year still have had to dispute several items (i.e., our Chapter 13 showing up again as a Chapter 7 with several creditors). I would clean it up but it is going to take a while so you will need to pull your reports every six months or so to ensure things stay corrected when/if corrected.
