    Filing singlely???

I am married but will be filing alone...I guess I am wondering how this works. When I do the means test I come out negative regardless of if I file single or jointly. Will they still go after my husband for my debt if he doesn't file as well. Also, I am not understanding how they determine what we can keep. How often do people actually have to give creditors their posessions?

When filing alone, you will include household income (yours and your husband's).

If there is any debt that is joint with your husband and you discharge it, yes they will go after your husband to collect. He will still owe the debt if he doesn't file bk or pay it off.

As for what you can keep, you need to look up what the exemptions are in your state. Use those guidelines to determine where all your property fits.

The debt is CC's and those cards are in my name only.
