If you've read my posts in the past, I have always boasted how I have never been served. Well, somebody banged on the door early this morning and woke us up out of bed. The mortgage company is trying to start the foreclosure. We have 20 days to answer the summons. I don't know if we will be able to file for 30-60 days. We have so much paperwork to complete and then it comes down to whenever the BK lawyer thinks it's the right time to file.
The BK lawyer told me that I could ignore the summons, but then that would speed up the foreclosure process. So now I have to write some kind of letter to the court and send a copy to the lawyer that served us.
The guy who served me said that there's a TON of people in my position. He also "hinted" that if I keep the house in good condition, it's "possible" that they could offer me "cash for keys" for me to leave.
Thing is, we need to save up at least $6,000 cash money to relocate between the moving company and the first, last & security needed to rent another house.
This should be a blast! I gotta get back to filling out the Ch. 7 paperwork. LOTS of stuff to write out by hand. I don't know why these lawyer's simply don't get web pages built to capture all of the data so that way their client's can all fill out everything on-line. Maybe I should write some kind of BK software and market it, ya think?
