    For Florida and others?

    Learned something today -

If you are going to BK but trying to keep your house, don't get behind in those payments.

Reason, you will have only 30 days to "catch up" - and several months of missed house payments can be a ton of money. With the very small exemptions we have in FL, where does one come up with that kind of money in 30 days. - jb

    This is interesting

I am behind in my payments, I am trying for a modification and they would not talk to me if I was NOT behind. I am not filing until I get a modification, most likely they will put the delinquent payments on the end of the loan and ask for a small modification fee (or the first months payment amount) to start the modification.

Unfortunately, I cannot get any communication from my bank on my loan modification. No calls, no letters, no responses to emails or my application from their website.... so I have no idea how long it will be...

I am in Florida too. My lender is IndyMac.

Beach, your story is all to "normal".

I was involved in doing short sales and helping people redo their loans and the lenders would give me 40-50 cents on the dollar off their loans but would not talk to them.

I think they are absolutely dumb but that is the reality of what is going on. - jb
