Link to an article about 7 dismissed

Thought it might be worth posting...

Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Reading through that was VERY informative...Man oh man were they playing fast and loose with the rules!

      They deserved the dismissal!

I looked up their petition on Pacer. This is not at all relevant I suppose, but it looked like their attorney used an outdated form, and one that may have been a copy of a copy of a copy... On the page explaining the different types of BK, it had the filing fee for 7 at $200. The info was typed in, I found a few mis-spelled words & in several areas the type was uneven. (They have a Toyota Camery.)

There is no way to know, but I figure if your petition looks professional, it encourages less extra scrutiny.

Good reading! I sometimes don't understand some people. File a ch7 if you have no disposable income and if you can pay something (but not all) then for crying out loud file a "good faith" ch13. Imagine going through all this just to get dismissed!

As Ronald Reagan once said "I'm not smart enough to be dishonest" that's my issue. I'll take what I can get and smile . I WON'T abuse the code.

Halfway through this article I almost had to run the the bathroom It got me freaked out!

                I'm bankrupt because of cocaine

hmmmm....the credit card debt I'm filing on (50K is on cards I haven't used since 2001...I free based for a few years after I got divorced, got cash advances on my credit cards...god, I don't even remember how it all added up.

I better attach my newspaper article on my recovery from cocaine, eh? Who knows what the trustees will think of my reason for my indebtedness.

I don't think admitting substance abuse would be a good thing in your bankruptcy. It depends on the trustee, but you really don't need to explain your reasons.
