    Answer my own question

    Well Based on what I have read (should have done that before posting).

    Since I live in CA my wife may be held responsible for my debt.

    I won't lose my car if I stay current on the payments.

      Hi Antonyeo,

      Typically, if you stay current on your car payments, the lender will allow you to reafirm the loan. Be sure to negotiate favorable terms though.
