I'm in GA-never saw anything about the home exemtion being $10k per person, but I had no reason to look into it. (Don't own a home and the personal property exemptions for a single filer is more than our stuff and we filed joint. We did use the wild card in lieu of homestead to exempt a tax refund if we should have one coming.)Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
