    Recent Charges

I have a question. In the past 60 days I've charged $4937 on my visa. Out of that amount 2017.96 was grocery, gas, utility, medical and BTS clothes. 276.04 was finance charges, and I then I had $978 in returns. How bad is this for me? I would never committ fraud but am scared it may appear that way.

    thanks-

I'm assuming the grocery, gas, etc. will be easy to indentify based on your statements/receipts. And you returned some of the non-essential items? What were the other charges? Those are possibly the ones you'll have issues with.

OH good lord, when you have a shopping addiction it could be anything. Looks like just plain old shopping, Target, Walmart, Kohls, my alarm company, eating out, post office, cell phone. Can a shopping addiction ( I am completely saying this with a straight face) not be considered the same as gambling? I was actually interviewed for our local paper about 6 months ago on the topic. This is all on one card, a card with a 12k balance.

      thanks-

I honestly don't know if it might be an issue or not. I'm sure someone else will chime in. I know that purchases under a certain amoung really aren't looked at, but I don't know if it is per transaction or per month.

Not familiar with the subject, but just like a person with substance abuse you may want to seek counciling to show that you have a problem and are doing something about it.

I did seek counseling last year for my OCD- how would I substantiate that? Have the doctor release her files, or write up some sort of documentation?

              I can relate to 4inga

Its true, I say with a straight face too, I do admit thats the same problem I have shopping addiction. That is what has gotten me in so much debt, just buying and buying, I really can't stop. Most people laugh at this subject and say that it is plain stupidity and irresponsible but its not, its a real problem. I did actually mention it to my DR and he did refer me to couseling for addictions but I never went because I have no money to pay for counseling at the moment. So I wonder too, if shopping addiction will be seen like gambling addiction in bankruptcy and be a problem on discharge issues?

Does anyone have any experience with Chase or Lowes showing up at your 341, or disputing recent charges at all? Also- will Ford show up because I have a secured loan on my car that I'm keeping? How long do I have to reaffirm it?

                thanks-
