Is there a rule of thumb for obtaining the mailing adress of a creditor? I have been getting the address off of my statements, but on some statements there is multiple addresses listed. Thanks.

I would use the address listed for correspondence or general mailing. The lock / PO boxes only process payments. Nobody ever 'looks' at written correspondence when sent to the boxes.

You can find creditor addresses on your credit report, from mailed bills, and from searches for contact information on a creditor's website.

Most lawyers will recommend including every mailing address you come across for each creditor. That way there's no doubt they will receive notification of your filing.

I have used both the address on my Credit Report and that for "Correspondence Address" on the bill. Do not use the payment address, as those are generally lock boxes, and they read NOTHING that comes through there, with exceptions for change of address notifications properly filled out on the back of the payment stub. :)

Even using the address on my Credit Report, I had two addresses kick back.

I used the websites addresses for correspondence. Like people said, don't use the payment address, they should have another address on their website.
