If I convert from a 13 to a 7

Does the date of filing start all over? Meaning, I filed 13 in May of 08, and I'm almost a year into it. Husband and I are thinking divorce. If we were to divorce, I would qualify for a 7. But is it a new filing from the date of conversion with another 10 years on credit history?
