Has anyone had success in obtaining their secured card after bankruptcy? Quite honestly,why would anyone deny a credit card application if the credit limit is directly correlated to the amount of the deposit you give them? Essentially, if you default it's like paying for your purchases in advance.

I was told by my attorney to obtain a secured credit card (mentioned BOA) fairly quickly to have a "card to use to rent a car," for example. To me, it is the same as a debit card? I've also heard you can buy secured Visas at 7-11! On the other hand, a co-worker who just received a discharge in September has already received a CC offer from BOA (her bank, and their card included in her BK). I plan to pursue a secured card through BOA this month.
