I have been unable to pay( approx $900) unemployment compensation taxes from 1994. In 1995 the put a lien on my property that I had to give back to HUD.When HUD sold the house, the lien was never paid and have been informed Federal agencies never do pay liens.
I was originally told by an attorney that the lien was expire in ten years, however, it is still on my credit report. I am about to file bankruptcy(pro se). Can this be discharged since it is so old. I have never received any mail from any agency about the money owed. Only found out when I saw it on my credit report a few years ago. It's not like they couldn't find me. I have lived at the same address for the past five years. Any advice????
Thanks
Chuck
