Re: Experian reporting accounts discharged before 341 mtg??

I recently got copies of my credit reports from the big three. Interesting that Experian shows many of my accounts as discharged and balance of 0 and I have not even had my 341 meeting. Is this common does this mean these creditors will not show up at the creditors meeting. Somehow it made me feel relieved but another part of me thought.... hmmm.... that can't be right. Curious as to have others had this happen and what does it mean.

    Thanks in advance.

The creditors report the info, Experian compiles it. Some creditors report as soon as they get the BK notice, others may wait til its over.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Nothing unusual about this, many creditors report to the credit bureau as soon as they are notified. Though some do wait because sometimes a case is dimissed for one reason or another.
Check your credit report again after your discharge, and then dispute any reporting that is incorrect.

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

thank you that is helpful. I just couldn't help but feel happy when I saw the zero balance reported. Never thought I would see the day that I would feel happy about seeing the word bankruptcy on my credit report. This forum helps so much in "normalizing" an event or situation that most of us never would have thought would happen.
