    income confusion

    I'm so confused...I'm looking at my w'2 from 08 and it says my gross pay is 44275, that is in the middle of the sheet, but the little strips out to the side that you actually file with your taxes say 37531....I did do my taxes last week, and I used the 37531, but I'm just noticing this other figure in the middle.

    Is our income based on our W-2's or strictly our paystubs?

    That's why I was reviewing it tonight anyway, to see if I was below or above the median.

    I might have figured it out, The bigger figure is before insurance and FSA account. I guess that would not count in figuring the disposal income.

      You use the gross figure ($44,275), not the net.
