Does anyone have any expertise with taxes? I received an $8,000.00 distribution (I was told it was my homestead exemption) from the trustee of my Chapter 7 after my home sold for more than what was owed on it. I have yet to receive a 1099-MISC form from the trustee. Do I owe federal tax on this amount?
