Ok, I have a serious issue here, and need some advice.

This company in my area, named Majestic Innovations, keeps calling me repeatedly. They are one of those pyramid scheme vitamin selling places. I went to one of thier first "meetings" when they first called, and told them to never call me again. They call and are like "are you looking for full or part time employment, please call 5555551234." Or whatever the number is. It's completely annoying, and God only knows where they get my number from.

Well I called them back yesterday, after they left three messages on my voice mail, and I yelled at the guy on the other line, and he yelled back at ME. I then filed a complaint with the police for harassment, and the BBB in my area.

I also emailed the guy, who was listed as the contact for this company. He said that he has never heard of Majestic Innovations, that he does not work for a pyramid scheme, and that the sells wholesale vitamins. I then emailed him back and asked why his name and email address was listed as the contact name for him. He said he wouldn't know, and not to email him again.

So now what? I have no idea where these people are getting my name or number. They claim that they are getting it through "referrals" but no one that I know would be stupid enough to put my name on one of those lists.

Any advice? This is getting really old, and they are burning up my minutes. This has been going on for three months now.

Hate to say this but you need to change your number. Unless you can find out a person that can help you or a "real" address to send them a registered letter to I am not sure. Does your phone company have a way to trace the call and give you and address or a way to block the number from calling you. You can register on the federal do not call list but they may say you are a "customer". Keep us posted.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

      Tinroofrusted,
You didn't say if you had caller ID or not.....that's one of the best ways to track where a call is comming from. Getting it temporarily might be a good investment right now... Then you know whose calling before you pick up the phone.

Also you said you had filed a police report and had called the BBB.... Now you need to file a complaint with the phone company. They don't take harrassment lightly. It would even better if you could give the the phone number off of caller ID to help them trace this person. Believe me, they will put a stop to the calls..... Harrassment is against the law, even from a business.... Same as "threatening" calls are.

Try this and see if it helps,

      PS
I handle obsence phone calls by telling them "I've been waiting on someone to call me all day - you wouldn't believe what kind of day I have had..... and yak, yak, yak" and I just keep talking and talking and talking and soon I hear "click".... I don't give them any room to say anything.....

LOL - works for me - men hate a woman that won't shutup.........

I have caller id. The problem is, is that every time they call me, they call from a completely different number. EVERY time, so I don't know if it's them or not.

The only phone that I have is my cell phone, and they don't really do anything about the calls. Trust me, I already called them.

They do have a physical address, as they are a member of my local BBB. Maybe I should try that? This is just getting really old. I am not interested in selling cheap crap for them, and I don't want them to call me anymore.

Done that too. In fact, I filed a complaint with the FTC yesterday.

              Great advice.

Unfortunately there are two things wrong here. The first is that they call from a different number every single time. The second is that my phone is a cell phone, and the cell provider will NOT block numbers. I have already tried to have that done.

                Tinroofrusted,
                Here's a thought.
I had a problem a few years back with a car dealer...reported him, no luck! Finally I sent a certified letter to the Attorney General of my state telling him the situation.
Three days later I received a letter from the Attorney General that I would be receiving and "apology call" from this dealer and after that the dealer knows there is to be "no contact" with me. I was told in my letter if he continues to contact me - the Attorney General will pull his liscense......just notify them that he is still doing it..
When he called to "apologize" - he said "your trying to get my liscense pulled"!!!! I said - sorry about your luck, buddy!!!
                No word from him since.

So contact your Attorney General and let them pull his liscense for harrassment....... WORKED FOR ME.....

You can send a complaint by e-mail to the Attorney General and then follow it with a certified memo.....

                    Bet you get results....

                      Tin,
I can tell you that I recieve NO sales calls ever. Put your Cell on the National Do Not Call List. It will take awhile. Also, by law they have to take your name from their list when requested. This sounds like a boiler room operation, so my point may be moot. Do put your number in the registry though, it absolutely works. All of our Cell and House numbers are on it.

We were getting ABSOLUTE harrassment from the PBA and Firefighters subcontractors. Unfortunately because of the tactics used by their contractors these organizations will NEVER recieve another donation, EVER. They did take me off of there list. The problem was that they would always ask for my wife by name. When i would ask what was it in refernce to they would say "just a courtesy call" or just hang up. Never until I returned the calls did I find out who these scumbag organizations were. They were always RUDE as hell. I was always taught to ask permission before speaking to someones wife and I explained numerous times to these people that unless they identified themselves they would never speak to her. Sometimes the calls had ID, sometimes "No Data". It is different if it's a friend, but a stranger calling my house?!

Hi, Tin, wow, you type faster than I edit!

I have already done this! I did this when I first got the thing, so that's not even an issue!

The problem is that they're driving me insane! I don't wany any part of their pyramid scheme, and I don't want them calling me.

I wrote that letter to the Attorney General. We'll see what happens,

I have a home phone & cell phone because I love to talk, don't tell anyone they wouldn't believe that about me. Seriously though, I pay for both services, I have them to use for my benefit, I pay for them.
My long winded point is, I would see IF I could get a record of how many minutes that they have called me, write the head of the company also (I saw wher Minny suggested the AG, my next suggestion) get his name, address it tot him directly, tell him these are calls to your cell and you have repeatedly asked not to be called again, if you have a time line of these calls (dates and times) any names etc. supply those. (if you don't then you need to start keeping a record) From a land line phone call them, ask them name etc. Again tell them to leave you alone, trust me, they wont like you calling them asking for them by name. Have a phonedirectory nearby, see if their name is listed, if it Susan Perriwinkle, say Susan is your home number XYZ? Bet they wouldn't like that.
Keep a list of who you have complained to and when. If you don't get significant relief in the next couple weeks (government progress is still in the caveman days). Call your local District Attorney's office and make a complaint.
Keep us posted, this is good information.
Hopefully by changing your phone # you won't need this information.
NOTE: Unless there is someone else by the same name and number, I wouldn't believe the contact for Majestic, don't email him again, but you can send him a registered letter ref. turning him in to the BBB and that if it is not him maybe he needs to do some contacting the BBB. Just my thoughts @ home on Friday night.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

                            Update!!!!!

So I finally got contacted from some interesting people. I wrote about this situation on my blog, and got nearly 100 responses from people who formerly were contacted them, and worked for them, or whatever.

Here's what I found out. The company DOES in fact get names from Monster, yahoo and other search engines. They are in fact pyramid scheme. The company itself keeps changing names, and so far, no one is none the wiser.

I am still waiting to hear back on my proven info!

                            I'll keep ya posted.
