I haven't made a payment since Dec. on my 1st and 2nd mortgage. I received a letter via US mail from a local attorney dated 4/17/09 stating that they were retained by GMAC to collect the debt and I had 30 days to respond or they will file legal proceedings. I assume that means they will foreclose. I did not respond.
I have started getting letters from other local attorneys to call them and they can stop the foreclosure, etc. etc. I am wondering how they found out about this already. I have not been served with any papers or received any certified letters.
Does anyone know? And what will happen once the legal proceeding is filed. I am in Wisc.
