Hello,
Found this board in desperation (as many have).
I have put filing off for some time, and of course want to beat the FRIDAY deadline (cannot believe the court is closed nation-wide on Monday "to get ready" for the new laws. What? Get ready for FEWER filings since there won't be a 'start over' option in this country?)
A few questions, if I may?
1. Do people here recommend that Form7.com software? I have downloaded and printed all forms from the court site and now have a BIG stack of paper that is overwhelming me. I would like to ditch that pile and use an automated program, if the software is considered reliable.
2. Does anyone know how one would list a judgment in a civil suit? What kind of 'debt' would that be?
3. Since the civil suit judgment allows for post-judgment interest, and you can't determine what the final amount would be unless it is paid since it run till the date the judgment is paid off, can I put the original judgment amount and add verbage "and post-judgment interest"? Or will it be the judgment creditor's responsibility to come forward at the 341 to state the exact amount. I guess it has to presented in a fashion that allows for discharge of both pre and post judgment interest.
4. How do I value a valuable piece of jewelry? Do I have to get a formal IRS valuation? I own a paid-for crappy car and nothing else. The only other thing of value is a ring my mother gave me years ago. A diamond. Insurance value at about $11,000. Have tried to sell it; could never get more than $3000 for it. Should I expect that the trustee will force me to sell it to pay some of my debts?
God, I guess I have to dive in and get this done. The bankruptcy court is 4 hours away in my state (Oregon), and I am sure praying that they allow USPS overnight express mail!
Thanks!!
