As of February 1st of this year we were in a CH 13 but our lawyer was already working on a conversion to a ch 7. Because of that he told me not to file our income taxes. On April 12th I filed an extension with the IRS and on April 30th we filed our conversion. Our 341 is Friday.
Now I asked him last week when I can file the taxes and he sort of seemed unsure. He said he thinks I should be fine as long as I do it AFTER the 341 but I can do it before discharge. Would you do this or just wait until after discharge? I did notice on our paperwork that we have $16000 left in Wildcard exemptions whatever that means. Would that protect our refund or no?
