    Short Sale and Ch7 question...

Our house is under contract via a short sale. The contract is with the negotiator now and they just ordered and received a full appraisal. The house is vacant but I have the power on, for the moment, and keeping it up somewhat. The bank just called the realtor and informed them since we filed CH7 our file is pretty much tossed because they can't do anything while it is involved in the BK. I am assuming they need to file the relief of stay (I think that is what its called) and then the short sale process can move forward. Can someone advise me on the process as far as the short sale and the effect of the CH7?
I am only interested in getting the house sold/foreclosed sooner rather than later so I can get on the clock to be able to get a mortgage again. I swear these banks cut their nose to spite their face! This is a very fair offer for the current market and if they let it foreclose they will be lucky to get half of the offer at auction.

Let me rephrase my question... Does the bk immediately stop the short sale negotiation process? So the bank is unable to actually review the package etc.. for short sale until the stay is lifted?

Sorry, I re read my original post and didn't think my question was clear.

    TIA!
