Surrendering a camper in Chapter 7

We are in the middle of a Chapter 7 bankruptcy in NJ. When we filed the papers we put down that we wanted to surrender our camper which we still owe money to the bank on. Our attorney said we had to list it as surrendering or the court would not grant a chapter 7 order. Since then my mother said she would like to make the payments for us so we could keep the camper. If we continue to make the payments will the bank let us keep the camper even though the order says we were surrendering it?

Talk with your lawyer. Your bank may require a formal reaffirmation agreement. If they do, I'd thank your mother for her offer but decline. Save the assistance for something you may really need post bk.
