collections and marriage

Hello Everyone,

Has anyone had any experience with collectors, or other slimbags trying to collect money from a spouse, even if they do not owe the money. Also do they try to damage your credit reports.

I live in a community property state and the lady I will be marrying has a lot of debt that I cannot pay. Not really her fault either. A lot of medical bills.

I believe legally they can do nothing, but imagine a good collector would be little worried about such small things as the law.

Thanks for the advice.

WE were thinking about getting married in Mexcio.

I wonder if we did that would it not show up on any records in the states and the marriage would simply stay under the radar screen.
