Okay, so, now after almost a year and a half after a relative of mine died owing almost $400,000 in credit card debt, a new twist in the story has developed.
Some identity thief applied for two Visa cards in his name and got them! And ran up thousands of dollars in debts. This is outright fraud.
But guess who they call about it? Us.
And they are claiming that we might be somehow involved in the fraud.
Fortunately, I have proof that I was not anywhere near the state where the fraudulent charges occured. They don't care. They just get more aggressive each time they call.
It is possible that a certain relative who lives in that other state might be involved in the fraud. I asked this relative about it and he claims to know nothing about it.
