    Todd the Great

Many moons ago you made the simple statement about "cash on hand" giving peace of mind.
Oh Toddius Grandeus, Emporer of the BK Forium and Grand Poobah of all that is post BK.

I took the advice, have been socking away wifey's paychecks as ABLE (not every week). Well, along coma' da' Wilma. So far we have laid out this two weeks 375.00 plumbing, 189.00 new front door, 200.00 for extra food/supplies 372.00 twice for tools this week, no rentals, we bought enough to build a new home plus a host of other items and paid the bills (including 224.00 on son #2's braces) and still have NOT touched the savings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Add to that son #1 is noe unemployed and I'm gassing up one 26 gallon truck and two cars!! And wife has lost three weeks pay!! Youch! but we are making it.
Thank you, your advice has been heeded!

If there ever be a reward for hard work, I think the OP just gave it.

        You Go

Trying to do the savings things myself, Seems I can't get ahead, then I think about what I would do in the past, charge it or borrow with the "motto" my payment will only go up X#$, and will pay it out of my overtime, p/t job, etc. Then something would come along and take that.
NO, I don't have saved what I had anticipating savings, but homeowners ins. hit the roof, gas went waaaaaaaaaay up, helping son out that was in an accident (that wasn't his fault), minimally I might add. (just life going on)
BUT, I am not discouraged, THIS TO SHALL PASS.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....
