I was wondering (Having some looking/reading) that I can send a C&D letter to collection agencies. But nothing about the original creditor...Same or is this not permitted?
As long as they are not breaking any laws they have every right to attempt to collect their money. I do not think the original creditors have to obey any c & d letters. But I could be wrong though.

Yep, dang it, I needed to word my search better...
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act applies to both the agency and to attorneys who collect two or more debts per year. This law does not apply to the original creditor. However many original creditors will honor your request to not be called.
