    Evansville, Operation Blessing

Folks, my woes ain't nothin'. When you give to help these people I only ask one thing. No matter what you think of Pat Robertson I ate several meals because of Operation Blessing years ago. Their trucks get there and food and HELP is distributed. they are the main focus of any disaster giving i do. These people were really good to my family during Andrew and at one other time along time ago. I really remember them and they have been visible in Florida during all disasters.

I assure you, they will be there first or very near it.

I looked over the site...99.2% in used donations? (money going directly to those who need it, not "associated bills" such as advertising and such) Not even "Make a wish" does THAT good...!!!!

I think I can spare $25, but not more

Thank you for that knowledge. It is good to know those things. Many people don't know that. Here at least, I heard an ad from Red Cross, they only wanted $$ for donations due to high transportation costs. (DUH, where are they planning on buying the supplies?? (joke) cops stole from the local Walmart)
There were at least 3 tractor trailers from our county alone that I know of that were fully loaded and everything from equipment, fuel, driver & supplies was fully donated. My grandson's daycare sponsored one (some of the employees, that is)
I don't do yard sales, no time. But if I know someone that can use something I have outgrown etc, I give it to them. The rest is packed up and taken to the Salvation Army. Who cares that it is gently used, clean, dry, clothes, are clean dry clothes. Take what you can get until you can do better.
I have mentioned this before, lightening will agree at least in theory, you have to help self before you can expect others to help. There are exclusions to that to.
I live in the South, we have floods and hurricanes on a regular basis. You learn to get prepared, the best you can. You take heed from the weather reports and are glad when they are wrong.
We have had several baddddd storms here this year, a lot of localized flooding.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....
