We filed in July, our confirmation is set for next week. We have student loans that will "sit" during our 13 but my husband has 3 more semesters to finish his degree. It is about $4K. I had assumed we could put it with our student loans, but I guess not. I'm not sure what to do now. I have sent our attorney an email and hope to hear on Monday but I'm hoping someone on here can help.

Any student and other loans taken out after filing are yours to pay. They don't count in the same bucket as your student loans from before you filed
However, most students do not have to start paying on federal student loans until 6 months after they finish school. Are these private student loans? (Please say no...)I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

They are federal loans...or were. We weren't able to ammend our budget because my husband took the second half the year off because I was in and out of the hospital so we couldn't "prove" the expense. I think we will be on the phone tomorrow to the financial aid dept.Comment
