Of interest to North Carolina residents

Senate Bill 974 was signed by your governor on Sept 9.
It provides protections against forcloseures as well as debt collectors. Here'sa text of the bill with the sections dealing with coleectors. You have some recourse if you get sued on SOL debts plus, it requires some stanards for verification.

I have been waiting for this to happen. North Carolina seems to be the first State to try to reign in the control of JDB (Junk Debt Buyers).

    Now will other States follow?
Golden Jubilee was a year-long celebration held every 50 years in which all bondmen were freed, mortgaged lands were restored to the original owners, and land was left fallow: Lev. 25:8-17

I'm of the opinion that nobody gets rich suing collection agencies. I think who gets paid is immaterial.
To me, the fact that a standard is set for what is proper verification and, a prohibition from suing on SOL debts are two very important protections.
