What does the date for "objection to discharge/523" mean?

my date for this was today. so does it mean that if a creditor wanted to object to being included in the bk they had to do something??

does it have anything to do with the adversary proceedings for the lien strips? did they have to respond by this date to my lawyer?
my lawyer said the time was fast approaching and he had not heard anythign...but I wasnt' sure if these 2 dates coincided with each other.

    thanks for explaining.

Here's the Ch 13 timeline for filing objections and claims. (Note: the 341 date is the first one set by the court. Even if your 341 is moved to a later date, the original 341 date is the one used.)

30 Days after your 341 - The bankruptcy trustee and your creditors have to object to all of your exemption claims within 30 days after the conclusion of the meeting of your creditors.

45 Days after your 341 - Your creditors have the right to object to confirmation of your case, but your attorney will likely have resolved any objections to confirmation before this date.

60 Days after your 341 - Creditors have 60 days from the first set 341 meeting date to file an adversary proceeding.

90 Days After your 341 - All of your creditors (except for government entities) must file their proofs of claim (these are documents your creditors submit to the court specifying how much you owe them) within 90 days after the first date set for your creditor meeting if they wish to share in the payments from your case.

180 Days After Your Case is Filed - Government entities that have claims against you (such as the IRS) have 180 days after the filing of your case to submit their proofs of claim.

Where are you along this timeline?

Here's a great basic explanation of adversary proceedings inside bankruptcy - http://www.************************/...ry-proceeding/

For the set deadlines to file objections, claims, and APs, see the deadlines listed above.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

    07/18/06 - Confirmation Hearing - not confirmed, 3 objections
10/05/06 - Hearing to resolve 2 trustee objections
01/24/07 - Judge dismisses mortgage company objection

My 341 was Aug 26th, so I just passed my 60 day mark....

thank you for the timeline and confirmation. Its nice to know that I have passed another mark in the line.....as my confirmation is "months" away according to my lawyer because they are sooooooooo behind/busy here in AZ....

so its nice to see things progressing
