    Happy Thanksgiving Folks!!

Just wanted to take a minute to wish you all a Good Thanksgiving!

Count your Blessings that life has bestowed upon you and cherish all the people in your life you love each day. Family and good Friends mean a lot!

Bankruptcy is hard to do - but its not the end of the world!! Life will definetely look a lot better afterwards. It's a foot in the right direction for many of us.

Money and material things are really unimportant even though it can be hard to survive without them. It's amazing what you "can really do without".....

Remember, you are not the only one having a hard time this year! After all the floods, hurricanes, sickness, etc. many folks have lost a LOT!!! Some have lost it ALL!!!!

So Thanksgiving Day - set aside your problems - Count your many Blessings and spend the day with Family and Friends, and your pet.

    God Bless all of You,

    Minny

Even though I am a very complete cynic, I agree that we could be in worse straights then just a BK or late paying. There's many who'd ADORE having our choices, problems and concerns.

Not a cynic here. My problems are small, my worry is for the Country. Rampant and runaway immigration of the lowest and most abased life forms, runaway big government, entitlement mentality, I am very concerned for my boys.

None of that changes the fact we still have reason as a Country to celebrate a National Day of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was never just about family and spending time together. It was inteneded as a Day of thanks for all that we still posessed in spite of the tragedy of the Civil War that was going on at the time. And Lincoln never intended God and Christ to be excluded or exchanged for nameless "thankfulness". I am thankful for the Country, the Soldiers who are walking on the wall and for my family whom they protect.

Mr. Lincoln also uttered two great phrases that always strke a chord, "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the nation" and "The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation will be the philosophy of governement in the next". Which remeinds me, I am also thankful for private schools.

I know a lot of us still don't know how we're going to make it...

even with filing bankruptcy...but we can be thankful for our families, friends, animals, and hope for our future. I hope everyone has someone to share thanksgiving with and if you don't have anyone, please, you can get yourself out of the house and push away lonliness by giving some time to getting involved at your local shelter, salvation army, etc...tomorrow, somewhere where you can do something that others will remember and surely thankful for your assistance.

              Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Mmmm....my house smells good this morning. Turkey is in the oven, green beans and potatoes in the crock pot overnight, bread rising on the stove.

                Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone.
Please remember that Thanksgiving is an attitude, a state of the heart, even more than the mind. When I consider all of the medical things my wife and I have gone through in the last several years, I am truly grateful to be here with her. That is much more important than how fancy our table is spread or how many fancy dishes we have or how much or little we have to spend for Christmas.
I am also very grateful for this forum and the people on it and the daily support I can receive here. Art

Apple Pie, Chicharon, Coconut Rice, Turkey, String Bean Casserole, Sweet Potato topped with caramel and walnuts, Cuban Pastries, cranberry juice homeade, Publix Homemade Ice Cream, Pecan Pie, a host of Colombian items and Jamaican Ginger Beer and RED VELVET cake from next door and it's all over and lots of left overs. At nite we lined up three sofas in the Florida Room and repositioned all the speakers and with the house in absolute darkness (physically, that is) blasted War of the Worlds. And yes, we gave thanks to God for all the Blessings that we have, perfect day.

Especially enjoyed the crowd of teens and babies all of whom didn't utter a peep during the movie!

Nah, the baby peeped a little, the teens were spellbound, they hadn't seen the movie before. And my boys are movie buffs like me, so you talk, you leave...

Sheesh, and I saw the flick five times in the theatre... not my wife, though. Between this and Lord of the Rings I could've declared BK alone. Five of us saw the Return of the King three times and the other 2 x each. You'll never see it again and the scenery can't be duplicated at home. Serenity I saw three times because i loved the Firefly series. For years we could not afford any movies, now that money is flowing we enjoy ourselves.

That's good to hear, if life wasn't bad enough, I'm now fighting my bank (Which is so lame!) and so, they get to join the others it seems

                          Well Gen

You got to enjoy the good times because life can always toss you against the rocks and i realize that little I've gained can be easily lost. As a family we have had ups and downs. I had to take handouts from Pat Robertson and some churches years ago. They were a great help.

So much is compressed into a single lifetime. It is odd for me to think about where I was born, how I was educated, what I have thrown away and how circumstances change how I live now. I just thank God for his mercy and that of others. So many people from so many places have been so good to us over the years.

Gen, I've lived through my Mom dying of cancer, my step mother drowning back in '75 (her car went over the Haulover Boat Ramp, appearently asleep at the wheel?), divorces, operations, SHOOTINGS I've witnessed in Miami and my wife got caught in the cross fire in a Bank Robbery in Colombia. I have been three kids broke, hurricaned out of a home, BANKRUPT, in a car accident years ago with lapsed insurance (not at fault, whew) and the Hatian man who demolished the UNPAID off car had no insurance either, seperations, falsley accused, you name it... life is awfully compressed. So much unnecessary trauma is lived in a life and we are not so resilient as we think. God's grace has kept me and good people he has sent along the way. If I seem rough at times in the Forum it's because I see folks asking questions about items that show that they are headed for complications also. Back to Thanksgiving, it is the one day of the year I refuse to work (our contract stipulates that Holidays can be banked for later, double or triple paid or taken off by seniority). Thanksgiving is the one day that we should all set aside our own interests, go to Church, if open, in the AM just like the flawed but faithful pilgrims and give thanks to God. I absolutely will not work on the day.
