Question Have a meeting with a lawyer.....

Well, me and my wife go and talk to a lawyer tomorrow about which bk we can do. This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I have always been the one that paid his depts and were on time with all payments. The past few years have been up and down. I feel embarrassed, ashamed and that I have let my family down. This past year has been what finally put us over the cliff. We have a little over $40,000 is cc and med bills. Our monthly payments to these bills add up to around $1600 a month. We are both teachers and make around $96,000 gross a year (3 in household). We are current on all of them, except two, and they are only a few weeks late. We are current on our house (want to keep) and two cars (want to keep). The house has very little or no equity, the truck and car have no equity. That is really all the assets that we have. We have been pretty much buying gas and groceries with the cc's just to get by. I don't know how we got so far in. The options that we have looked at or tried have not helped. We see this as our last option. I have taken the on line means test (Georgia), but don't know if I am doing it right or if I am putting in all the information I need to. It says that we do not qualify for Ch. 7. Says we have to much disposable income. I find that very hard to believe, since we are in the hole around $800 a month. Anyway, what should we expect? Thanks
