What the IRS do in bankruptcy proceedings

I have a home with about $100,000 equity in it. I have also some money in my IRA account but that is about the assets I have. I live on social security.

I owe a lot of money in back taxes.

Can the IRS take my home and my IRA savings if I declare bankruptcy?
