Is it necessary for all info to appear in published records. I notice the local papers sometimes publish only the names of the individuals and the amounts involved. Most often they list, job, address, etc. If one is retired, do they need to publish what retired from????
Thanks.....
How recently were you retired. Typically, your former employer doesn't get listed in your BK schedules and statements, so they would have to look elsewhere for that info...which I doubt they would do.
Information is available depending on how hard someone wants to look. Unless you work for a secret or semi-secret agency of the US government, the name of your employer is not confidential information and the press has a first amendment right to publish true, non-priviledged information.

why do people care so much about being found out on filing bankrupcty.
I dont care myself, I never did care much about what others thought of me.

Unfortunately, BKs are a matter of public record. A few local members of the media here in my hometown of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. do publish chapter 11 and 12 BKs, not 7 and 13s. But anyone can look up a bankruptcy if they look hard enough. So what, who cares?

My local paper used to publish individual bk's in it. I think they still do but I haven't read this particular paper in a while. What I always found interesting with them doing that and I don't want to discuss politics on this forum, but I just want to say that they like most media outlets are very critical of the new bk laws and the politicians that signed it into law and yet they publicly announce bk filers to anyone that reads it. Just seems strange to me that they bad mouth the govt for making the new law harsh and yet purposely embarrass bk filers by posting names all in the name of the first amendment.
