    What is

    "Government Proof of Claim" it is due/set for April 18TH, my discharge is scheduled for 2/09 (1 month, yes) we filed CH7 PRO SE if it makes a difference.

    Can any one tell me what that means or what it is?

    I know it is a standard date in BK-6 months from filing or 4 months from 341. (I'm not sure which, as for me, they were the same thing.) It doesn't impact discharge or close though.
    Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

      I asked the same question awhile back. I then looked at other cases and found just as Staci said, it is a standard part of most bk's although some other members said it was not on thier petition. For most states I believe it is standard and does not impact your discharge or closure date. My discharge date was 12/27 and I have already received my discharge in the mail. The government proof of claim deadline is 03/06/06. Nothing to worry about.
