    Won Lottery Want To Dismiss

So I filled bankruptcy a while ago, and already had my 341 meeting, it was last week. So anyways last weekend I have been down in the dumps and I was on-line jus surfing ways to make money. I came to a sports betting web-site (i never gamble and I hate it with a passion) but I saw some weird looking odds and decided to put $25.00 on a bet. I had to pick who would win the games last sunday on the NFL. I picked and every team I picked won. it was a 8 game parlay bet, and my $25.00 turned into $26,329.00 I said to myself that I was dang luck and cashed out. I then went to the local store and bought a lottery ticket $40 worth. Anyways I hit the jackpot won 4 Million Dollars. This is no joke. My next question is this. Can I go into the BK court and dismiss my BK. I want to pay all my debts now with my winnings, and I can live life without BK. Is this possible? Please let me know.

    Thanks for all your help

(I'm answering the post as it was asked, not buying into what was posted.)

You can pay any creditors that you want to-BK does not mean you CAN'T, just that you don't have to.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

WOW! Are you for real? I am not sure if you can dismiss it now or not. I am sure you will have to pay all your debts and you might still have the bk on your cr. BUT WHO CARES with all that money, you don't need credit.

          ??????????

Ummm, why ask this question here? Wouldn't the first person(s) you would be talking to is your atty. (if you didn't file pro se)? Next, if you did in fact win $4MM, then duh, pay off your debts. Who cares about what it does to your BK and your credit.

Oh by the way, I'm not buying into this. I think someone is trying to stir up an unecessary discussion here. It's funny how someone would post that, and then immediately log out.

It is highly doubtful that that even happened because you wouldn't have any questions about what you should or shouldn't do.

                LOL

See, I might actually buy the lucky bets on sports games, but you ruined it with the lottery thing.

To answer all of your questions. I filled pro se,
you are asking why I would care and pay back the creditors, I care because wasn't for sure I wouldn't get introuble with the trustee like maybe he would take all the money. I have hired an attorney now. For everyone the doubts me!!! Well I don't really care. Doesn't change the fact that it truly happened. There are infact people who win the lottery. People always win it. Just because some of you my buy tickets and not win doesn't mean that know one ever wins. posted on this board because you all have helped me out, If you don't want to help me because I won money then you are all a little cold hearted. Just because someone named lighting ruined these boards doesn't mean you need to take it out on me..... for the person who asked why I logged out, so fast was because I went out too lunch with a friend. Is it wrong to post then log out? That doesn't mean I lied it just meant I logged out had I stayed logged in what would that have meant. I didn't ask that you comment on my winnnig I just asked for help. I have nothing to prove to any of you. I thought you guys where more respectful then that? oh well... guess I was wrong, guess you guys don't care. I was in the same situation you whre in.

My approach is whether the OP is writing fiction or not doesn't really matter. I'll answer questions as they are asked. Either it will benefit the OP, or someone else down the line. Regardless, no personal loss for me since I'm bored at work anyhow!

We meant no offense towards you. It's just common sense that one would know EXACTELY what to do if they won $4MM. Don't get so defensive.

                          Best of luck to you.

I'm outta this thread for good.

                            now to you BKFILER

No bkfiler the only thing pathetic is the fact that you can't be happy about someone getting lucky. Any MODS out there want to check my IP address do it. I am not the person you are thinking of. BKfiler what does the last part of your message mean addressed towards staci?

I have nothing to prove to you guys.... Get a mod, I am not breaking any rules. matter of fact I don't care if you dont believe me I will not post here in this section again... but I will continue to post in this forum because there is no rule from stoping me. I did nothing wrong. In my book everyone who has posted something negativly to me on this board is cold hearted and that is truly sad. OH WELL.

how is it common since. Most laws state if you earn a large ammount of money or win it the trustee could take it. For all I know if I didn't try to dismiss it the trustee could take all my money and thought I was hiding it. I am not fimiliar with the laws was also afraid they would think it was fraud and thought there might be criminal punishment if it was. All I wanted to know is if I could dismiss it, and basicly not have it on my credit. Most people who file bankruptcy wouldn't know what to do by law, they think it would be ok to do something and in fact it wasn't...

Best of luck to you to.
