I am behind 2 months on both mine and my wife's student loans and am in the process of filing a chp 7. After I file do I continue to make payments on them ? Or do they go into deferment until the bk is discharged ? I have the money right now to pay and get current on them due to Christmas gifts, should I go ahead and pay them to get current ?

When you file, the automatic stay will apply so most likely they'll be deferred for at least 3 months, maybe longer. I would suggest call them, and work it out so that they put the loan into forebearance for now. That should get it back into good standing in terms of credit reporting.Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's.
