just wondering, isnt that title a bit 'off'. what SAG exactly are they talking about?

Sorry, I'll let HRx do that, and if he does i won't complain. I still believe what i believe and the politics of it don't scare me. I will always believe that when the parts don't, it's depraved.

you mean you dont know how to edit a comment or will wait to see what a mod says about it?

if a mod does it then the entire post gets deleted. if you do it then only a few words get changed and the post with its opinions can remain. why not remain cautious instead, that way you wont take the chance on offending someone and can still give your opinions.

Nah, it's just that in retrospect if i were to call Pat Robertson a fascist and all Right Wing Christians or Christians in general a bunch of depraved venom spewing scumbags no one would say a single word about editing or deleting. Oh, I'd get some replies, but nothing more, it would be absolutely acceptable. But touch any sacred cow of the politically correct... not that I'm defending right-wingers, I just don't play the double standard. Not that i really meant to offend, just an opinion.

ummm, yes i would say the same thing about that comment too becuase it has to do with religion. there are ways to express yourself without using such a harsh tone. remember that we are all friends here. and some of us probably align ourselves with those areas you speak. hence, someone would probably get offended.

now you have two posts you could edit and still keep imo. why not take it out and leave the idea.

think of it this way, we got lots of people here. i know you dont want to offend them but thte comments obviously will. however, i bet you could say that about a creditor and you will get no problems lol. or a trustee even better. thats for two reason...

one, its words used to describe somethign other then things we are sensitive about. sex, religion, politics, race, handicap, etc.

two, we all as friends know we hate those people, so to speak. so logically less of a chance of offending someone.

Nobody on this board would be so bold as to use the N word when talking about Black people, or to make other remarks about working women, or stereotyping people of other religions, etc., but for some reason it is still open season on gay people. I find this behavior to be personally insulting and I think you owe the whole board an apology. There are probably plenty of gay people on this board, and they don't have to be insulted by you cretins. Annie Proulx, who wrote the short story the film is based on, is an excellent writer who has won prizes for her work. And the film is considered a watershed event because it actually depicts gays in a regular life, not in stereotypical roles. I'm sure you are all way too unsophisticated to get any of this, and why I bother I do not know, but it really pains me to see such ignorance. And you all called Lightening scurrilous! Shame, Shame, Shame!

I don't see whats so bad about what robivi said. I didn't see it as being comparable to a racist comment. Everyone has opinions about things and sometimes its going to offend others. I trips me out though when someone is offended and they say "apologize". I hear things quite often that offends me but thats life. I accept thats how someone feels and don't lose any sweat over it. I can't change them and shouldn't try to anyway. Thats their right to feel that way.

Pinktiger, I think you're confusing apples and oranges.

Lighting came here WITH THE INTENT to anger, upset and belittle us.

Robvi responded to another comment about a single movie. It was not with malice, it was NOT intentional. It WAS a "Personal Viewpoint"

Additionally, I have no interest in seeing it either...Why? Not interested...I am not against or for the gay community...But I go and watch what I like, not what others "Think" I should see.

And calling us ignorant when you don't even know us, is acting just like those you hate.
