Surrender Vehicle...Please clear this up

OK. I am in Ch.7 in PA waiting for discharge. Assuming everything goes through without a problem, is it ok to let the bank take my car. I did NOT reaffirm, but I need to continue to pay the $500 payment, as it helps my numbers, and I need a car to drive. My C.U. has told me that I could buy a used car while in BK, and I would love to get rid of the huge car payment. Once everything is over, can I just stop paying and have them pick up the car without additional penalty? There is also some minor damage to the front bumper. Will this matter?

Why pay the payment if you don't want to keep it? Do you have an attorney? (check with him before you do anything)
It usually take them a while to repo the car. We drove ours for a couple months, you do have to keep up the tags and insurance.

I am making the payment because my case is not discharged yet, and I need to show the $500 payment to keep my expenses up. Maybe I don't need to...that is why I asked. I will ask my attorney also.
