    Who's at the door?

Has anyone ever had a creditor show up at their door a few days after their last day of objections? Some guy rang the doorbell early this afternoon and then again later on before it got dark. I never answer the door during the day since I'm home alone and it is usually someone soliciting anyway. Just thought it was odd. I think it is the same person. We live on a cul-de-sac and noticed he only came to our house.

By the way, our trustee in Wichita, Kansas, filed proof of claims yesterday on the tax refunds on a lot of the filers that were at the 341 when we had ours.

    Filed 10/14/2005
    341 concluded 11/10/05
    Last day for objections 1/9/06.
    Proof of claims filed 1/9/06.

Waiting, waiting, waiting. . . on W2s and Pacer!!

Listen just make sure he doesn't say two words... "Sarah Connor?"...

If it is one of your listed creditors I would almost be tempted to invite him in and then slip away, call the cops and document the intrusion. Trustees DO NOT like someone trying to "backdoor" when they have a case... A BIG NO NO.

That being said, I would not encourage you to invite a stranger in at all as I assume you are a housewife and no one else is around.

No worries there--I would never let anyone in. I talk through our entry door and stand back. Its funny to see people's reaction when I do that and that's only if hubby is home and standing right there or on the stairs.

I just happen to work at home for a hospital as a transcriptionist and the doorbell interrupts my work so I ignore it unless I'm expecting a delivery. My office faces the cul-de-sac though so I was peaking through the blinds to see who this was and they only went to our house that I could tell.

I'm thinking it is Countrywide with an affirmation agreement for our mortgage, and since we filed pro se, they need to take that to the trustee. Besides anyone else will usually leave a flier or a card or some other mess in the door.

I had bill collector show up at my door once. He said he wasn't leaving until he got some money and sat on my porch step. I told him he can sit there all night for all I care. When he seen my pick up the phone and start dialing he got up and left pretty quick... must have thought I was calling the cops. I probably should have called them and documented the incident in case it happened again... but he never showed up again.

We don't have such, but Mom is VERY s...l...o...w in ability to answer the door...More then once I have come home to find leaflets left tucked in many spots...

Not worried about anyone trying to break in...Neighborhood has passed the word my dogs are "Biters" (Hey, you bother a doggie going poopie and what do ya expect??) and so more then once, door knock, dogs bark and Mom says "I just saw a blur"...

renee - what makes you think it was a creditor? It is odd that he just stopped at your house; I dont blame you for not answering it though. We live in a cul de sac too and very nosy neighbors - several ladies who stay at home during the day - so there is ever a stranger in our cove they are all over it.

Hey Edwards--i don't know why i thought it was a creditor but we don't just have people come to our house. We're retired military and Wichita is not our home state so no friends here that would pop over. There is no reason for anyone to stop at our house, so me being the type who always thinks the worst figured it was some creditor thinking we were not too bright and trying to pull a fast one.

Geneco, I didn't see his face but of what I saw of the back--you don't want to come roaming for this guy. LOL

Hopefully, he will come back tomorrow and I'll find out who it is. I'm answer the door with my collie.

Was he overly skinny, wearing a white shirt with black tie and riding a bike?

Someone told me the story of Lawrence Taylor the other day. (Former football player) He had 2 Rottweilers. One was named "Kick" and the other "A*s" ! Art

yep--that's what i was looking for. That big fat check.

This guy wasn't in the usual JH uniform--he had on dark slacks and a dress shirt and he had clunker of a car. I think it was in worse shape than my poor old van.
