I purchased several items to fix up our home in order to sell it and potentially avoid BK. When we realized what our proceeds would be from the sale, we realized that it would only cover these charges. We ended up racking up around $8000 between 2 card Amex and John Deere Credit. The only purchase we made over $600 was necessary landscaping which ended up being $3000. This purchases were 6 months ago and I have read several times in this forum that the cutoff is 3-6 months for them to avoid contesting the BK. Do I need to wait longer?
Do the individual charges need to exceed the 1100 luxury limit or the entire amount?
We have a new baby coming any day and don't know what to do! We can't sell our house and then try to move to an apartment if they would even allow us with such poor credit. Any suggestions?
