Anyone know of any good Bk software

    Hi Everyone:

I would like to prepare my own paper work for my Ch7 and I do not feel like getting out my old dinosaur of a typewriter to type up all of those forms. I know that there are some pro-se's out here so could you let me know what software that you used? And even if you are not a pro-se, I trust that some of you gurus and experts out there heard of something on the market.

    Thanks,

    so-beyond-broke

nothing yet as the laws changed and some forms have probably changed and many added as well.

form7 used to be popular. go see what they have to say about it. they will have to come up with something sooner or later.

      Message to our customers:
The Form 7 software has not been updated for the changes to the bankruptcy law that were effective October 17, 2005. Bill Freeburg, the creator of Form 7 software, was working on an update before his untimely death in October. We are exploring ways to continue supporting the do-it-yourself bankruptcy customer but we do not know when an updated version will be available.
well, looks like they only had one guy working on it. and he died. pretty damn dumb business strategy.

regarding form7 - do the people that used form7 know if the forms changed based on your particular state? or are all the forms the same since bankruptcy is a federal process?

          USABankruptcy http://usabankruptcyassociates.com/usabk/index.asp - $185

they say their deal with the new bk laws.

i wouldnt do it myself though. id rather pay $1000 more to make the attorney handle it until more cases go through the court. in time we will see how it works, the info will be out there and can figure out how to do it correct.

plus, right now if you dont file something on time then your case will be dismissed and you will lose your filing fee.

            Thanks for the reply

            Hi Bkfiler

I wish that I did have the available cash to pay an atty right now, however I am waiting until a little later in the year to file. I am trying to follow up on cases in NYC under the new laws esp people who filed on their own and see what happened with their cases before taking the plunge myself. Besides I am doing pre-Bk things to get prepared i.e. evaluating what little property I have, what to do with my car, pulling my CR's and comparing with the list of CC's I have so that I don't make any ommissions. I realized that unless its a dire emergency to file (like tomorrow because of an eviction) that its best to plan ahead and of course save the $$ to pay the fees.

Here's a link for you. It compares several different companies and you can learn more about their services:

Here's another one I found as well:

I kinda wish you didn't have to pay to see how they work. I'd like to try before I buy. Turbo Tax was like that the first time I used it. I got to see how it worked before I decided whether I wanted to pay or not.

There is "data enabled form" site. Instead of typewriting or handwriting you can fill in these PDF forms in your computer.
