checking account at bank with credit card that we plan to include in the bk
Can anyone tell me some things that might happen with my checking account since it is at the bank that gave us a visa i will be including in a bk...we have direct deposit of our paychecks...should we quietly close this account out and move it to another bank b4 filing? I don't want it to look like we planned this since all i am trying to do is protect the money that pays our house and living expenses...by the way we live in pennsylvania

This situation can be somewhat difficult to explain. Some banks simply don't play by the rules. What does the fine print on your checking account and credit card agreement say? There have been members here in the past in the same predicament as you. And have had thier checking account closed/garnished because they chose to have an affiliated credit card debt discharged via bankruptcy.Originally posted by rlgrace1
My suggestion is to simply, open an new account with a different bank, to prevent yourself from having unnecessary finanicial headaches.
