how good is my credit score

my chapter7 has been discharged almost 3 yrs and my credit score is 628 is this normal?

    #2
could be higher but all depends on many factors.

it maybe goes faster if you have been using 3 credit cards well during the time.

congrats on your discahrge a long time ago!

how have you been doing financially? late payments? etc? would love to hear.
Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

bkfiler - that was going to be my question too...we have been discharged since August 2005 and I last checked our score a few months ago and it was 600. We have gotten 3 unsecured cards - very low limit - and have been paying them for a few months. I definitely think that made a difference.

that great to hear! well done!

consikder using 2 more credit cards (not store cards or gas cards) to build your credit. wait for low fee cards and just use them for monthly things you already always buy and then pay regular payment to get more credit history on your record. keep them in your drawer.

consider them a credit building tool. not a income extension loan.

i think this will help bring your score up much higher.

also, make sure you do not show a balance from now on that is more then 30% of the limit. this keeps you from getting into a rought spot and makes your score higher as well. balances that are reported as 51% of the limit will bring your score down.

hehe, ask him to see it on screen live. if he does then he is the only person ever known to have that score. 850 is the max and i think that is theoretical.

bad credit a year ago and now a 900? hehehe - is he one of the uncles that drinks too much and tells fibbs alot?

if it if was a FAKO it still way too high. tell him you will be glad to beleive him once he shows it to you live on the sceen in real time.

There are many different scoring models. FICO's (the only one you really should bother with) ranges from 350-850 and 800's are RARE. It is possible, though that there is a credit scoring model that has a different range of #'s.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
