2nd job/xtra income after bk discharge?

Being that I, personally, have this unknown car repo sitting over my head, at leas till 2/27...but yet, still have been discharged; I have the opportunity to acquire a second job on the weekends.

Can this be constued fraudulently? I could really use the extra $100/week to put towards any/all bills maybe even a car payment if my 4runner goes bye-bye...I don't want to be re-opened and thrown into a CH13...because even on my measely income of $1,600/mo...it barely covers my bills w/o any help from my SO....

I've already found out from a friend of mine that it is above the counter pay...therefor I have to check w/my accountant as I don't want to go up into a higher tax bracket because of $400 xtra a month...

My mother told me that poverty level income is something in the neighborhood of $16K a year...well I grossed $23K last year...go figure...

Trying not to be confusing here yet, keep my bills paid & my head above water!

    Any thoughts, oh wise gurus?

only the trustee knows for sure. re-read that again to be safe.

making extra income before discharge is highly discouraged by attorneys if you are filing a chapter 7. imo i wouldnt do it.

when is your discharge date? after that then id think an extra job is fine. afterall they cant keep you from working and improving your life. that is what the bk is for.

before discharge would scare me a little. $400 is more then enough to go ahead and start a chap 13. would he ever find out? i doubt it. but what if he does?

if he does, an argument could be temporary work to pay for a vehicle. and explain you cant work weekends your entire life. and you can show that you didnt work weekends before. see how this goes? so no pattern of it.
Im not an attorney or a trustee. You cant trust me either though!

You should be fine, assuming this isn't something that you arranged months ago!
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

My discharge was January 18th....so this is certainly after that fact...I'm just awaiting being closed with that notice to creditors re:liens thing

Certainly not...the ad just came out in our island paper last Thursday!

Like I said, my $1600 a month barely...by a hair covers my bills...but doesn't stretch to cover my grocery bills...

look at it this way: rent 700, car insurance 200, cell phone 100, water 50, electric 150, cable 50, gas in SUV per week 45...where does that bring me? oh, about $1300....now lets add $100/week groceries...clothes, child support (275) and I'm way over what I'm bringing in at the moment...$1,975 in expenses without having a major car repair or doctor bill...oye vay! I guess I do need some extra income!

I just don't want to get screwed up yet keep ahead of my bills!
