I am truly surprised the mortgage dude did not get busted before. I was underimpressed with his use of the English language and would be hard pressed to seek the help of someone who turns out such sloppy written work. Granted, we are not in English class here, but not many of us are in the market to sell anything either. Enough said.

these people do not get us. they think we will fall for anything they post. Usually I believe they are running affiliates sights and are not associated with what they advertise except by generating hits. Allfund, stay the hell away.

The desire to keep our home over the years is a huge part of what drove us to the point we are today.

We took on a house that was really too much for our budget. But you know mortgage lenders. Buy as much house as you can afford now. Go the max that we will allow as your income will increase over time. But with the bigger house, and growing kids, came bigger expenses. And then there were repairs. A couple of years in and we had to replace the heat pump. Another couple years in and we had to replace the roof. In no time, the debt had mounted to the point we could not breathe. So we did a debt consolidation and took on a second mortgage.

Life expenses kept increasing. Kids' medical needs. Hubby in the hospital once. Me in the hospital twice for a couple different surgeries. Next thing you know, we are swimming in debt again. And then came the shark.

We looked for a total refi to consolidate all our debt. No reputable mortgage lender would touch us. But we happened to contact a mortgage broker who was more than happy to help us out. He got us a super over inflated appraisal of our home. Structured us into a traditional 80/20 mortgage and put the rest of the debt in a HELOC. We essentially shook hands with the Devil himself. Between points and Broker's fees, we paid nearly $10K to screw ourselves. Found that out after we'd signed the papers and got home with time to read everything. They had been very careful at covering the truth from us by flooding us with paperwork full of legaleeze and never showing us a simple financial statement or costs analysis sheet.

But the debt piled up again. Hubby lost his job. Unemployed for 6-7 months. Found new job outa state. Moved on ahead of the family to work. We did the fresh coat of paint, addressed some neglected repair issues, replaced the 18 year old worn out carpet, cashed out the IRA to pay off the HELOC, and put the house on the market to sell. House hasn't sold. And we have been supporting 2 households for over a year now.

The Allfund's of this world are predators lurking, hunting for people just like us. Looking for people who value their "home" so much they will dig their own grave to keep it. Allfund doesn't care you can't keep up the payments 2 years from now and pay your life expenses. That Allfund's payments keep you chained into the debt cycle to survive. All Allfund wants is their cut, their fee, the referral bonus from a mortgage lender, the points, the thrill of the kill by closing a new loan.

The 'old pro's' here are not going to fall victim to the spam-artists. My concern is for the newbies... Before you realize you're not alone and vulnerable in all of this, you might be more likely to grasp at anything.

I also worry about the "newbie" trying to find another way to solve the problem without filing bankruptcy.

If an offer sounds "too good to be true" it probably is!!!!!

And they just get deeper in debt and finally in the end, they do file bankruptcy..... but after they have spent another fortune trying to dig out!!! Usually the creditor won't work with a lot of these companies and your still in the same position of lawsuits and judgements.

Bankruptcy is not a "bad thing" - ITS A NECESSITY to many!!! There is no other way to solve the problem... and we are very fortunate that bankruptcy still exists.... Someday it may not!!!!!

So newbies, beware of the "perfect deal"...... take it from us old timers.... :D

Compared to Minny and Staci, I'm a newbie. But we are an older couple as well.

Some stuff we can figure out. Gut instinct. A Vibe. Deduction based on other knowledge. What ever you wanna call it.

Other times, it's lessons learned in the "School of Hard Knocks". A person similar to Allfund was a School of Hard Knocks lesson that I hope no one else would have to endure.

Sinkingfast,

Theres a lot to be said about "that gut feeling" about things..... I personally really listen to that gut feeling or that little voice that says "think about this".......

I have found over the the years "my first instinct" or "first impression" are usually right...... and I really listen to it!!!

And I'm not exactly a kid myself either!!! LOL - though wish I was sometimes again.

:D
