Crown Jewelers

So I heard on here about the crown jewelers thing. Site was down for awhile then I heard was back up. So I go and apply, and look at some of the 'merchandise'. Total garbage lol. I figured I would buy a new watch that ran 215$ and was worth maybe 50, could buy at a local mall even for 100. Then you gotta put almost half the money down lol. Forget it. More money down than the product is worth, and still be in debt over it? Don't think so. This is about as much of a ripoff as the aspire visa or any of the other high fee deals.

If you check the prices on the citizen watches you will find that they are not grossly overpriced in general. I found many pretty comparable prices on the net for some of the models.

I know, right? What lind of deal are those?? Most of the things I saw were so cheezy  and WAY over priced:blink: !!
I have a ring that looks exactly like the one on there and mine costed no where near the price Crown is asking for!!! IMine is MUCH better quaility (accoring to their numbers) PLUS I have a lifetime cleaning, repairs, and sizing:yes2: ...NOTHING from Crown!..I guess it is hit or miss.

Plus I want to touch and see JEWERLY in person..not off some cheezy site, and What was with the sight just up and vanishing for over a month or two... too fishy for my standards:dry: .

Get your self a CC with low interest and little or no fees, and then buy your jewerly ...it's the same thing.:D

They're not overpriced, the items are priced at exactly the manufacturer suggested retail price. So the 'list' price of these items will be the same if you look them up for each item. However with jewelry, most places never actually sell for retail. They do however use the list prices so they can advertise they sell for half price for example, or have a sale and say '75% off' lol

Yep--same thing all the other jewelery store do

I didn't go for anything high priced. THere are pendants & earrings in the $25 range, after s/h, about $33-34. My daughter will get a hear pendant for her birthday (turning 6) and I get an account reporting... Less than the fees on First Premier/Aspire type cards, and having an open/positive tradeline is an important start for rebuilding.

Since I want to purchase our home in the summer, having new accounts reporting positive history was a high priority for us. (And there is 0% chance of us getting into debt trouble on this account, LOL.)

Ps-I doubt many people open the CJ account for their jewelry, LOL. Its about getting an easy TL when you can't get one anywhere else!

There was a security issue-which is why their site went down. Most likely they've resolved it though it wouldn't hurt to be careful and pay by Paypal or sending in a payment.

Does crown jewelers give immediate approval or does it take a while to get approved?

When I opened an account in October, it took about a day.
