    Cleaning up my credit report...questions

    Hey folks...
I am ever so confused about what is and is not allowed as an entry on a credit report. Specifically, I had a credit card with First Premier (avoid them like the plague), was sent to another collection place and paid. Is FP allowed to show multiple entries on the same report, i.e., their entry AND the company that bought out the debt?

I have been fighting with NCO over old medical bills for the past 2 years. They show double entries for almost every bill and I had a significant amount of old medical bills without the double entries. I could use some hard and fast rules to clean these things up. What IS allowed to be shown on my report once (if) my BK is discharged? Any help would be appreciated. I am sick of court and attorneys and pins and needles and would like to clean this up on my own if possible. Also, what, if anything, can I do if the CRAs don't show the right thing on the report? I am pretty ignorant about this stuff, and I feel like I am "fighting city hall and can't win."

    Thanks

A sold/transferred account can show multiple times-but the original should show $0 owed. Whichever creditor had the balance when you filed should show IIB, $0 owed.

If your reports aren't reporting correctly, write letters to the bureaus. "I don't owe a balance of $X to Such-and-such Company." They're required to verify, or delete. If the accounts come back as verified then you can write to the creditor, as verifying that you owe money when you don't is something you could sue them over.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
