    Collection company

Once a collection company buys a debt, does it become more unlikely for the creditor to show up and contest the bankruptcy.

This is American Express and the amount is almost $10,000.

Creditors, especially credit card companies, rarely contest bankruptcy's. Debt purchasers can be a little more aggressive, but they rarely come into a BK and make trouble. The problem with debt purchasers is that they tend to show back up a few years after your discharge and try to collect the debt again.
