Hire an attorney I know?

I am an acquaintance of a respected bankruptcy attorney. We barely know each other, but are active in the alumni group for our college.

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice as to whether I should hire someone like this person, who I trust and think I would be comfortable working with, or is it best to hire an attorney who isn't in the same social circles?

I think whatever your comfortable with. Hell, my best friends wife will be suing me soon because she represents a cc company who is about to get filed on. (neither he or she knows it....I really don't want anybody knowing it, but I recon that's life) He is always telling me about how much money she has won from the suits, and how many are people we work with. I just smile and tell him crap happens.

If you know you attorney I guess it doesn't really matter..... It's your Trustee YOU CAN'T KNOW..............
