    Closed case question

We had our 341 in August, the trustee said he may want to look at our refunds that was it, in Feb we got a letter saying our case was discharged and closed. My question is, can the trustee still take our refund? We have heard nothing.

Thanks in advance for your help,

From what I understand, the trustee could technically re-open your file to take the tax return, but this is rare. They will usually only open your file if you have new assets, such as an inheritance, or property sale. I doubt they would do this for an income tax return, at least I hope not.

Just to be on the safe side,...........

Save receipts from things you spent the refund on. Buy necessities types of things, pay insurance premiums, etc. Keep all your receipts to "prove" you didn't blow it all having a gay old time gambling in Vegas.
